Dr. Lorraine Beraho

Q: What is your connection to our mission?

A: As a Pediatrician and public health professional I have a passion for all children, but over the past 3 years ironically I have become the confidant for many families in my network as they navigate suspected or newly diagnosed Autism. Each experience impacted me deeply as I encouraged my friends that knowledge is power and there is hope. I’m thankful to work for AYA as a trusted platform for parents to get answers in a timely manner which ultimately benefits the child greatly.

Q: Why do you love helping children?

A: My sister was born at 27 weeks and although she beat the odds, her health journey has been challenging. Witnessing how doctors treated and advocated for her inspired me to become a Pediatrician.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: Traveling, Reading, and Brunching:)

Q: What (or who) inspires you?

A: My Dad, a Professor who taught at the University level for over 30 years was passionate about family, genetics, and values. He was an academician with an exemplary work ethic and the best Dad jokes.

Q: Tell us about your family. Any children? What about pets?

A: I come from a close knit family including 5 siblings living in the United States and East Africa as well. Our family dog, Huey, puts a smile on our face daily.
