Dr. Patricia Walters is a board-certified with pediatrician with over 10 years of experience treating children, and currently provides autism evaluations for kids at As You Are. She completed her graduate degree from the University of San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca and completed her residency at Elmhurst Hospital Center, New York. Dr. Patricia Walters is licensed to see families for autism evaluations in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

Q: What is your connection to our mission?
A: Early diagnosis of autism has proven to lead to a more positive outcome and greater success for functional independent living. For young children with autism this means that they can be introduced to therapies earlier and the skills needed to reach their full potential are taught early and the impact of intervention is much more comprehensive.
Q: Why do you love helping children?
A: Working with children reminds me of how amazing the world can be. I see this opportunity as a way to make an impact in children and their families.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Travel and cooking. Always looking for the next best recipe.
Q: What (or who) inspires you?
A: My best friend is a mother of a special needs child. She inspires me and she has taught me to think in terms of possibilities instead of limitations.
Q: Tell us about your family. Any children? What about pets?
A: I have a close-knit family and extended family that includes dogs and cats.
