What is your connection to our mission?
As You Are is doing something not just different, but something that the world needs. Something that our future generations deserve. I got into healthcare almost by accident and fell in love with my part of the bigger picture- storytelling, And, As You Are is helping to tell a great story, ultimately providing stronger futures for many children across the nation.
Why do you love helping children?
Who wouldn’t love helping kiddos? Kids are our future. They are literally the future of this world. And, its our job, quite literally our obligation to ensure they have the tools and the resources to be successful. And that’s exactly what AYA has set out to do. Watching a child succeed – in anything – there’s no greater feeling. And, knowing we’re helping alleviate some stress for parents and families along the way, not bad either.
What are your hobbies?
We are gym rats in my household and try to stay pretty active. We love our fur babies, Rico Suave and Holly Marie, both rescues, and love taking them down to the river for a solid swim. With our families across the country, we love to travel any chance we can to see them.
What (or who) inspires you?
My friends, my family, my circle, really. There are so many people in my life that I’m grateful for, for a variety of reasons. Each and every one of them has played a role in shaping who I am today, and I love that.
Tell us about your family. Any children? What about pets?
We live in San Antonio, TX, where breakfast tacos are their own food group. We have 3 kiddos and our grandma that lives with us along with two crazy fur babies!
