Q: What is your connection to our mission?

A: Every child deserves the best care without delays. I believe that, as a pediatrician with As You Are, we can help guide families to much needed diagnoses and early therapy to optimize their child’s development.

Q: Why do you love helping children?

A: There is absolutely nothing better in life than seeing a child smile. To help one child is to help the world because children are what make the world go around.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: Exercise (HIIT, spinning, weights, running, competitions) and plants!

Q: What (or who) inspires you?

A: My daughter is my inspiration. She is kind, patient, smart, and always happy. She describes herself as “a delight” and “joyful” which is absolutely accurate. I strive to personify her every single day.

Q: Tell us about your family. Any children? What about pets?

A: I have a daughter named Ruby Lu who was born on Christmas Day and named after her great grandmother and my mother. She is in second grade. She has a dwarf hamster named Peanut Butter who is just as adorable as her name and three rotating bowls of various betta fish. My father is an aerospace engineer and my mother is a retired US Postal Service mail carrier. I also have a brother who is an anesthesiologist and two beautiful nieces with his wife who is a pharmacist. My family is everything to me!
