  • What is As You Are?

As You Are is a virtual clinic focused on reducing wait times for an autism diagnosis by providing evaluations through telehealth appointments.

  • What is a re-evaluation and why might my child need one?

A re-evaluation is an updated assessment for children who have previously received an autism diagnosis. Re-evaluations are often needed to maintain educational accommodations, continue therapy services, or address developmental changes.

  • How is the re-evaluation process different from an initial evaluation?

An autism Re-evaluation focuses on your child's current functioning and how their needs may have evolved since their initial diagnosis. The process is typically more streamlined than an initial evaluation.

  • What documentation do I need for my child's re-evaluation?

We require documentation of your child's previous autism diagnosis, which could include the diagnostic report, an IEP mentioning the diagnosis, or medical records confirming the diagnosis.

  • Do you accept insurance for re-evaluations?

Yes, we accept many of the same insurance plans for re-evaluations as we do for initial evaluations. Our team verifies your child's insurance coverage prior to your appointment.

  • How often should my child be re-evaluated?

The frequency depends on various factors including your child's age, developmental changes, and requirements of their school system or insurance provider. Many educational systems require re-evaluation every 2-3 years.

  • What age range do you serve for re-evaluations?

We have expanded our age range and now provide re-evaluations for kids 16 months – 17 years old who have a previous autism diagnosis with documentation.

  • Can you provide re-evaluations if my child was initially diagnosed by another provider?

Yes, we can provide re-evaluations for children who received their initial diagnosis from another provider. We'll need documentation of that previous diagnosis.

  • How can I use the re-evaluation documentation?

Our comprehensive reports can be used to:

    • Maintain or update educational accommodations (IEPs, 504 plans)
    • Continue coverage for therapeutic services
    • Support transitions between schools or educational levels
    • Guide adjustments to support strategies
