Dr. Hicks is an Associate Professor of Academic General Pediatrics at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. He is a physician scientist who studies the influence of genetics and the environment on pediatric diseases involving growth and neurodevelopment. More specifically, Dr. Hicks is interested in how peripheral epigenetic factors such as microRNA may be utilized to predict patient oriented outcomes in pediatric disorders of neurodevelopment (e.g. autism, concussion) and growth (e.g. obesity). He is funded by the National Institutes of Health and his research has been published in JAMA Pediatrics and the Journal of Neurotrauma.
